Chapter 10-12

pg:134

Quote Analysis1. Quote: I know what he was trying to do, but atticus was only a man. it takes a woman to do that kind of work.

2. Response: i chose this quote because it shows how Scout is growing up and maturing. i also chose this quote because it has a huge significance on the story because they were raised with out a mother so it is harder for Scout to regonize these things, which shows her maturity.

3. Significance: the significance is that scout is being more mature, and that scout apreciates what atticus does for them and to see how he tries.

Questions

1. how would you go about doing this if you were in atticuses situation?

2. Do you think Scout is maturing? how so?

Quote #4-Middle of Chapter 9

But the only time I ever heard Atticus speak sharply to anyone was when I once heard him say, "Sister, I do the best I can with them!"

quote anaylis and response

i think this means that atticus holds every one in high respect and never gives anyone backsas unless its an argument and if so he responds in a nice way to all. in this quote it shows me that atticus is a reasonable man who always hear out the other person unless they dont listen to him back.

Questions

1. what do you think of atticus?

2. what do you think of this quote (give me a short answer)

TKAM entry 2

Quote #1- End of Chapter 5
How would we like it if Atticus barged in on us without knocking, when we were in our rooms at night? We were, in effect, doing the same thing to Mr. Radley. What Mr. Radley did might seem peculiar to us, but it did not seem peculiar to him.

2. Response: its completly like aliens. we might think they look wierd to us, but to them we look wierd as well. this is the same thing only diffrent.

3. Significance: well it shows you that scout is also thinking about him and is always aware of how other people think. it also gives jem some insight on it as well.

Quote #2: End of Chapter 3
You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.

it means that you can never understand someone till you walk in there shoes because then not only do you have your own reason of agreement/disagreement but you also have there if you look from there point of view. its like the saying "living a day in there shoes" this means try looking from there point of view for a day
