Posting #3 Color of waterCh 11-15Quote Analysis1. Quote: “That’s why there made a fool out of so easily.”2. Response: the reason why I chose to use this quote is because its true. When some race or someone is kind and gentle to others people don’t return the favor and I only want to point this out because it shows how corrupt the society was back then and still is today.3. Significance: it just shows how easily blacks were despised of and why people didn’t like them.Questions (for your group members to respond to)1. Do you agree with what the author says about black people?2. Why can’t she tell her mother?

1. I have mixed feelings about what the author says. I think about it and I don't want it to be true, but there is some truth to the quote that the whole society was corrupt back then. Civil liberties hadn't really been enforced and the civil rights movement hadn't happened yet, so blacks were looked upon as the outcasts of society.
2. I think she can't tell her mother because she is embarrased. Showing up pregant ain't exactly the most proudest thing you could do if you were going to visit a family of already 12. I think that if she did tell her mother, her mother would be concerned, but not too concerned becuase she had other problems to deal with in a house of 12.
Quote: I think you chose a very interesting quote. It shows the society that they live in and how blacks are looked upon.
Adrianna,
Quote: I think I kind of agree with Gabe on this one. Plus I kind of don't understand what your is saying.
1. What does the author say about black people? I don't understand what part you are talking about.
2. Who can't tell thier mother what? I don't think Gabe understands what is going on in the book. I think he thinks all of the book is the author. I guess I will talk to him.
quote response: Tad, it seems you are quite passionate with the meaning behind your quote.. But it shows that back then there wasnt much civil liberty (as gabe said)
question1: Your question is a bit confusing, i dont know what the author said.
Question2: I think she didint tell for the same reason most young people wouldnt: she might have gotten mad, or concerned.
TADDEUS: I give you an A for effor, however you are not very specific on your entries.. try to be a bit more specific and give who, whats, wheres, whens, and why's,.. so we can properly answer your question.. Thank you
response: I totally agree with you because things just weren't right back then and sometimes today they aren't either. This just goes to show how hard it was for her and her children to get by.
1.I just think that it was just the truth of back then and very sad.
2.I think if she told her mother her mom will be very upset. Sinse her mom already has a lot to deal with.
