Quote #4-Middle of Chapter 9
But the only time I ever heard Atticus speak sharply to anyone was when I once heard him say, "Sister, I do the best I can with them!"
quote anaylis and response
i think this means that atticus holds every one in high respect and never gives anyone backsas unless its an argument and if so he responds in a nice way to all. in this quote it shows me that atticus is a reasonable man who always hear out the other person unless they dont listen to him back.

1. I think that this means almost what you said. Atticus is a very respectful man and only if his buttons are pressed extremely hard, will he act against someone's word.
2. I think that Atticus is a very intelligent and thoughtful man. He has done a brave thing by representing a person that is not so respected in their community. I also think that Atticus is a very soft spoken man and is very peaceful and calm at heart.
3. I think this quote shows a lot about how Atticus acts. It shows that even though Scout is 7 years old, it is the first time that she has ever heard him speak against someone.

Questions
1. I think that is a very noble man for not caring what people think of him. He took Tom Robinson's case willing, knowing that he would be persecuted about it.
2. I think that this quote is funny because you could tell that Atticus wanted to tell Alexandra to just be quiet. But he is a very calm man so he said it in the nicest tone he could.
Quote
In a way what he was saying was backsasing. Alexandra probably told him that he is raising his kids wrong, and in response he says that he is doing what he can.
